The world is a big place – and that’s a good thing. Welcome to Headphone Nation, and here’s what we’re about.
Founded in 2011 and based in the United States, Headphone Nation is the international music blog. “International” in the sense that we share Bandcamps from Africa, Eurasia, the Americas (outside the U.S.), Oceania, and more.
Our mission: to embrace how big, how diverse, and how weird our world is through music made by you and me – music that comes from places that don’t get as much coverage in the U.S. press.
We’re curators, and we’re also storytellers.
And we’ll still share good music from the U.S., if it’s from the great state of Indiana. (My home state!)
With our weekday posts, Monday through Thursday, we aim to make our worlds a little bigger, song by song. (Sometimes I get sick or too busy and miss a day or two; apologies in advance, but, also, no worries.)
If you wish to get Headphone Nation updates via email, sign up for the newsletter.
We’re glad that you’re here.
Tune in. Tune out. Live on.
More about me:
My name is Brady Gerber, and I am a writer from Indiana now based in New York.
I’ve written for New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Interview, Stereogum, FADER, Bandcamp Daily, Electric Literature, Literary Hub, McSweeney’s, and more. Check out more of my works on my website.
I also run a weekly newsletter where I share links on writing, reading, and creativity. I also draw very OK cartoons and publish new flash fiction (under 500 words) on the first Friday of every month.
On my website, I also run the very serious ARTS & FARTS column.
