Bonnie Raitt – “Thank You”

Year: 1971

Album: Bonnie Raitt

What a jam. This track is from Bonnie’s debut album, which was recorded live on four-track in an empty summer camp near Minneapolis (so she was the original Bon Iver?). I’ve always associated Raitt’s music with her exciting slide-blues guitar, but I love this slower lounge-jazz and R&B feel. There’s nothing flashy about this song, yet her playing is still strong, and the four-track recording sounds warm and inviting.
